State Representative David Prestin running for the Michigan Senate
Prestin is Vice Chair of the House Energy Committee.
David Prestin is a member of the Michigan House of Representatives from the 108th District, located on the Upper Peninsula. He has just launched a bid for the State Senate.
Prestin has entered the 2026 Republican primary for a seat in the Michigan Senate via the 38th District. The seat is currently held by Ed McBroom, who is not eligible for the race due to term limits.
Prestin was elected to the House in 2022 and in 2024. Additionally, he is a former member of the Menominee County, Michigan Board of Commissioners.
A volunteer firefighter and paramedic in Cedar River, Michigan, David Prestin is a native of Menomonee Falss, Wisconsin near Milwaukee. Prestin is an alum of Bay College, Waukesha County Technical College, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
