Moldova: Party of Action and Solidary wins 2025 Parliamentary election
The party favors joining the EU and increased ties with NATO.

Moldova has held its 2025 election to decide members of the country’s Parliament. The election comes against the backdrop of the country being considered for membership in the European Union and the Russian invasion of neighboring nation Ukraine. Following the vote, the Party of Action and Solidarity appears to have sailed to victory, winning a majority of seats in the legislature.
The PAS, founded by current Moldovan President Maia Sandu, strongly supports the notion of accession to the EU, along with having strong relationships with the United States and NATO. It also ran on a platform of support for Ukraine. At present, the party is led by Igor Grosu, the President of the Parliament.
Finishing in a distant second place was the pro-Russia Patriotic Electoral Bloc, led by ex-President Igor Dodon. Dodon has made unfounded claims that his party actually won the election - even before voting was finished - and has called for protests.
Landing in third place was the brand new Alternative political party. Additionally, Our Party and the Democracy at Home Party won seats in Parliament for the first time in each of their existences.
